In January 2007 the Welsh Ladies Golf Union and Welsh Golfing Union, each with well over 100 years of history, merged to become the Golf Union of Wales.  The GUW is a company limited by guarantee which employs 7 professional and one part time staff, whilst its development arm Golf Development Wales (a wholly owned subsidiary of GUW) employs 5 full time and two part time staff.

Administration & Corporate Governance

The GUW Board meets quarterly and the full Council comprising of 19 elected members and up to 4 co-opted members meets twice a year

The GUW launched a new vision, mission and core objectives in June 2012.
