Dr Rich Neil

Dr. Rich Neil is the lead Sport Psychologist for the Golf Union of Wales and works primarily with the National Squad members.

A Senior Lecturer at the internationally renowned Cardiff School of Sport (Cardiff Metropolitan University), Rich is a British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences Chartered Sport Scientist, British Psychological Society Chartered Psychologist, and Health Care Professions Council Registered Sport Psychologist. Rich has worked with elite performers from a variety sports, focusing on golf for his Doctorate between 2005 and 2007 – work that has continued ever since.Rich’s approach centers on developing the person along with the performer to help enable self-sufficient and resilient golfers.

Focusing on the foundations of resilient and successful athletes, Rich works with the GUW squad members to enhance their performance and lifestyle mindset through improving functional self-awareness, developing routines, and by educating and instilling mindset practices within technical, physical and mental preparation.To help develop the GUW Mindset of our golfers, Rich supervises and oversees 10 Cardiff Metropolitan University Post Graduate students who work with the Academy and Regional Squads.

Zach Gould

Zach Gould is the current movement specialist for the Welsh Golf Team and started his career as a player in the Welsh squad structure and represented his county both nationally and internationally.

Zach later took an interest to the physical aspect of the game, which led to him becoming the movement specialist for the GUW. Zach has obtained qualifications in the Fitness industry from CYQ Level 3 advanced personal trainer, CYQ level 3 Nutrition, CYQ level 3 Outdoor Training and CYQ level 3 fitness testing.

Zach later narrowed his focus when he studied for a BSc in Sport and Exercises Science at Cardiff Metropolitan University. He took his training one step further during this time when he engaged in a JEMS movement certification delivered by Joanne Elphinston. Zach is currently at Cardiff Metropolitan University studying an MSc in Sport and Exercise Science and undertaking a sports massage qualification.

Mark Bull

Mark has just finished his PhD in Sports, Exercise and Rehabilitation Science through Birmingham University. His areas of research focus on the connection between body structural and swing dysfunction and their influence on golf swing biomechanics and kinematics.

Mark provides 3D analysis, biomechanics and golf services to a range of leading players and golfing organisations including national bodies, European tour, counties, universities and numerous coaching programs.

Mark presents regularly to leading conferences and sporting organisations and is a contributor to TV and magazines on golf biomechanics.

Nathan Prosser

Nathan is a strength and conditioning coach based in North Wales who has a real passion for human performance. He became a rugby player with a premiership club at the age of sixteen and he has carried that same energy and enthusiasm for optimising human performance through into his life as a coach. He has a real talent and passion for getting the desired response from a body and mind by creating the right stimulus and the perfect environment through educating and motivating the people he works with.

After leaving school Nathan began working towards his goal of being a strength and conditioning coach where he attended UWIC (now Cardiff Metropolitan) and studied a BSc. in Sports Coaching. Alongside his degree, Nathan spent time gaining valuable experience within the elite level Strength and Conditioning environment, where he worked with the Cardiff Blues and several sports within the Welsh Institute of Sport. This natural progression led Nathan to study for UKSCA qualifications, BWLA Certifications alongside committing himself to develop his knowledge in the science of improving human performance; with future aspirations to complete a PhD in the field of golf Strength and Conditioning.

Nathan's interest in nutrition has led him to immerse himself in learning and applying different concepts to create positive changes and enhancements within the human body and mind.
