Mission Statement

The Golf Union of Wales is committed to the principles of equality of opportunity and of being a world class sport’s governing body that seeks to encourage participation and excellence at all levels and for all golfers whilst maintaining and preserving the traditions of honesty, integrity and fair play.

Vision and Goals

The Golf Union of Wales has identified a clear vision of where it wants to be in ten years time.   The goals are ambitious and challenging and focus the following key areas of activity:

Governance, Reputation and Impact

·         To be recognised as the hub around which golf in Wales revolves

·         To become a world class golf organisation

·         To be an exemplar to other sporting organisations

Elite Golfing Performance

·         To win major international competitions

·         To nurture and develop our golfing talent to produce more top class players, both at amateur and professional level

·         To promote and develop exemplary practice and coaching structures for golfers

·         To be an exemplar to other organisations

Members and Clubs

·         To build on best practice within Wales and elsewhere to help create a network of excellent clubs that will contribute to making golf accessible to all

·         To increase the number of registered players

·         To increase the number of clubs members
