Neil is currently the coach of the Golf Union of Wales National Male Squad. He has represented Great Britain & Ireland and Wales at every level, turning professional in 2000. Since then Neil switched his focus to coaching where he has worked with golfers of all levels from beginners to tournament professionals. In 2007 Neil was awarded the Golf Foundation PGA Professional of the Year and Golf Development Wales PGA Professional of the Year both for his work at encouraging and developing golfers at grass roots level
Neil prides himself on being at the cutting edge of Golf coaching and is fortunate to have worked with numerous International amateurs, as well as Regional and European Tour Professionals. Neil spends most of his time at the GUW National Centre of Excellence coaching The Men’s and Boys National golf teams. Neil has coached the following players: Phillip Price, Stuart Manley, Sahra Hassan, Rhys Enoch, Joe Vickery, James Frazer, Jason Shufflebotham, Otto Mand, Oliver Mottram.
Paul has been part of the golf union coaching team since 2007 and is coach to the regional boys and girls squads. He also coaches 2 members of the ladies national side, one of which is his daughter Chloe, and also several other squad members, county players and amateurs of all abilities.
He has been a PGA qualified professional for 18 years. During that time through the PGA coach development programme and the golf union has benefited from attending many external courses to expand his knowledge and expertise in all aspects of the game.
Paul is the professional at Wrexham golf club where he has been attached for 14 years, he enjoys playing the game but his main passion is for coaching.
His first experience and passion for elite coaching took place in 1993 when he became one of the Denbighshire county coaches and is still coaching the squad 20 years on.
Gareth turned professional in 2003 after a successful amateur career with Wales, winning the Welsh Boys Stroke Play title and a bronze medal at the ‘European Under 21’s Team Championships’. Gareth became a fully qualified PGA Professional in 2006 when he won the title of ‘PGA Assistant of the Year’.
Rhys became a fully qualified Professional in 2007 following 10 years as Assistant Professional at Royal Porthcawl Golf Club. It was during this time that Rhys gained valuable skills that would see him complete his training as a Top 10 Trainee of the Year.
In 2007 Rhys was appointed Head Professional at Tenby Golf Club, where he has since developed the West Coast Academy - a Centre of Holistic Coaching and Player Development. Rhys won ‘GDW Welsh PGA Professional of the Year in 2009’ largely upon the success of his ‘Get Pembrokeshire Golfing Scheme’.
Rhys now looks after the South West Academy Squad, a role of which he rightly proud. Rhys has a passion for playing but he specialises in coaching the game; providing coaching services 7 days a week at his academy in West Wales. He is a PGA Level three Coach and AAT Professional, Qualified Titleist Performance Institute Golf Fitness Coach (TPI) and runs a registered Performance Centre.
Rhys currently coaches a wide range of players from fellow professionals, county golfers and amateurs of all abilities. Of particular note Rhys is Personal Coach to two of the current Ladies Welsh International Players as well as several Welsh Squad members.
Before pursuing his passion for golf coaching John graduated from the University of Glamorgan with a 1st class honors degree in applied sport and exercise science. He achieved 4th place in his graduating year in his PGA training.
After completing his training as an assistant Professional at Llanymynech Golf club, Andrew graduated as a PGA Professional in 2008 from Birmingham University.
He then went on to develop Mid Wales Golf Academy, providing coaching and professional services to 7 Golf clubs across Mid Wales. Working alongside Golf Development wales he introduced over 1500 juniors and adults to the game. In 2010 Andy won Golf Development PGA Professional of the Year and was part of the coaching team at the 2010 Ryder Cup at The Celtic Manor. Andrew was also runner up in the National Coach Awards in 2011.
In 2012 Andrew was appointed as Head Professional at Aberdovey Golf Club and is also Director of Golf at Lakeside Golf Course in Mid Wales. He has attended several CPD courses over the last 6 years gaining knowledge in all aspect of the game. He has coached several players that are now currently part of the Golf Union squads along with Professionals and elite amateur golfers.
Andrew will be coaching the North Wales Academy squad, a role to which he has been aspiring to for years.
Sam turned professional in 2007 and has had the privilege of working with some of the most experienced coaches in Wales, including Welsh Ladies coach Paul Williams and Regional and Academy coach Gareth James.
He is currently a PGA Professional based in North Wales at Clays Golf Centre, the National Centre of Excellence, where he has worked for the last 3 years. Sam has a history of developing golfers from beginners to elite amateurs. Earlier this year he was appointed the North Wales Nursery Squad coach and the county coach for the Denbighshire and Flintshire girls section.
Due to his passion for coaching Sam has looked to develop his skills further by attending CPD courses in Golf Swing Biomechanics, Disability Coaching, Developing Elite Juniors and Developing Tour Players Short Games. As a TPI level one coach he continuously strives to utilize the ability of his pupils to ensure that they are all capable of reaching their golfing goals.
