DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES
The use of distance measuring devices will be permitted in all GUW Championships and Events. A player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (eg gradient,
windspeed, temperature etc) the player is in breach of Rule 14-3 for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional function is actually used.
GOLF BUGGIES
The use of golf buggies by a competitor / spectator in GUW Championships or Handicap Events staged by the Union is NOT permitted unless the individual has applied for and received permission to use a buggy in line with the GUW Transportation Policy. A copy of the policy together with an application form can be found at:
http://www.golfunionwales.org/policies.aspx
The use of buggies at club level is at the discretion of each club and subject to the criteria set out in each club’s buggy policy.
If a club permits the use of buggies then they may be used by competitors in those GUW events staged at club level which result in competitors proceeding to regional / area finals of the event. For example, Welsh Handicap Individual & CCV Handicap Team Championships; Ladies GUW Medals; Australian Spoons.
